ROLE OVERVIEW

OpenAI is hiring a VP of Security to lead security strategy for the world's leading AI research and deployment company. This role will build and scale OpenAI's security organization as the company grows from research lab to global AI platform, with responsibility for protecting the most advanced AI systems ever built.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Build and lead OpenAI's enterprise security organization from the ground up
Develop security strategy for AI model training infrastructure, APIs, and consumer products
Lead AI-specific security research including adversarial robustness and model security
Oversee security for ChatGPT, API platform, and enterprise customer deployments
Manage government and regulatory security relationships including NIST AI RMF compliance
Partner with safety team on security implications of frontier AI model development

REQUIREMENTS

12+ years of cybersecurity experience with 5+ years in VP or CISO-level leadership
Experience securing AI/ML infrastructure and large-scale API platforms
Background in building security organizations at high-growth technology companies
Deep expertise in cloud security, identity, and application security
Familiarity with AI safety and security research landscape preferred
Strong technical depth combined with executive communication skills
