ROLE OVERVIEW
Stripe is hiring a VP of Security Engineering to lead the technical security organization for the internet's payment infrastructure. This role owns application security, infrastructure security, and fraud engineering for a platform processing hundreds of billions in annual payment volume across 50+ countries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Stripe's security engineering organization of 150+ engineers across application, infrastructure, and fraud
Own security architecture for Stripe's payment processing infrastructure handling $1T+ in annual volume
Drive PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance and payment security certifications across all products
Lead security for Stripe's AI-powered fraud detection and risk management systems
Oversee bug bounty program and external security research engagement
Partner with product engineering on security-by-design for new payment products and markets
REQUIREMENTS
12+ years of security engineering experience with payments or financial technology background
Deep technical expertise in application security, cryptography, and distributed systems security
Experience leading large security engineering organizations at scale
Strong background in PCI-DSS compliance and payment security standards
Track record of building security programs at high-growth technology companies
Engineering management experience with ability to attract and retain top security talent
